Assistant-ready docs
AI Project Rules Generator
🤖 Generate rich, project-aware rules for Claude, Cursor, Copilot, and other AI coding assistants. Choose a project type and stack to tailor commands, tooling, security, and layout hints—then pick an output file from the dropdown and copy.
Generic works when you want a neutral baseline; other types add tailored sections.
Combined with the project details box for keyword detection (React + Python, monorepos, multiple services).
Paste architecture notes, per-service languages, or folder layout. This text is quoted in generated files and merged with the short stack line for tooling detection. Output updates shortly after you stop typing.
Outputs to include
Suggested path:CLAUDE.md(create parent folders such as .cursor/rules/ when needed)
About the AI project rules generator
This free tool helps developers create consistent CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md, GEMINI.md, Cursor rule files (.cursor/rules/*.mdc), and CONTRIBUTING.md-style convention docs. Beyond static boilerplate, it builds dynamic sections from your project type (priority focus, anti-patterns, security) and infers tooling from your stack (e.g. Next.js, Python, Rust) for commands and lint/test hints. If you skip inputs, you still get sensible generic templates you can edit in place. No sign-up required; generation runs entirely in your browser.
Use cases
- Onboard AI assistants with shared build, test, and style expectations
- Standardize rules across Claude Code, Cursor, and other assistant workflows
- Start from a neutral template when the repo is still evolving
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to answer every field?
No. Defaults are generic: you can leave project type as Generic and stack empty to get neutral templates. Add details when you want more targeted wording.
Where do I put Cursor rules?
Save the generated content as a .mdc file under .cursor/rules/ in your project root (for example .cursor/rules/project.mdc). Adjust the globs in the frontmatter if you want rules scoped to certain paths.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. All text is generated in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded for this tool.
